Webcams have many uses, but they can be quite limited if you decide to use them with basic software. You can find various webcam applications on the Internet, depending on what you need. One of them is Easy Web Cam. It includes a wide range of features, which are rarely found in the same interface, of the same application. You can use it to stream a live feed, take snapshots and upload them to a FTP server, use your camera as a motion sensor and more.

The application works on almost any 32 or 64-bit Windows platform and you can download it in a few moments. The installation procedure is straightforward, but the interesting part is that you may choose to back up certain files, because the wizard will make a few changes. The system requirements are not high and you can use the software with any webcam, including the built-in cameras on laptops.

If your webcam is connected and working, the software will recognize it immediately and it will display the camera's feed on the left side of its compact interface. You can use multiple webcams as well. It is possible to switch between cameras manually or have the software switch between them automatically, every few seconds. Easy Web Cam will also take and upload a snapshot every few minutes.

If you want to upload your captured images, you may specify a FTP address, username and password on a separate tab. You may also submit for free web space by clicking an option, located on the same tab. Easy Web Cam comes with a built-in web server, where you can share your live feed. You can make a few adjustments on a different window, but the recommended settings are already made. You just need to click a button, on the Server tab, to test your video feed. This will display your video feed on a web page, in your default browser and you can share its link to anyone.

Motion detection is another feature of Easy Web Cam. You can activate it immediately, by clicking a check box and you can also set its sensitivity. If someone is caught moving on your webcam, the software will start capturing and uploading automatically. This gives you the possibility of improvising your own security system. If someone is using your computer or if he just walks past it, Easy Web Cam will start working. This is why the software can switch to a stealth mode as well. It is also possible to prevent the application from uploading between certain hours or restrict it to specific days of the week.
